Conservation Tax Credit Transfer, LLC

Our passion for land conservation started over thirty-three years ago when we made the decision to live in Colorado. We love the land and we love the state.

We live in a beautiful red rock canyon. We decided to place a conservation easement on part of our ranch in 1999 and we qualified for a Credit. Colorado had a budget surplus in 2000 so we applied for a state tax refund. We knew we would probably not be able to use the rest of our Credit over the remaining allowable 20-year period so we decided to sell the remainder.

Our neighbors also decided to sell their Credit. We thought that many landowners donating easements would want to do the same. We were familiar with land conservation, the Credit transfer process, the Colorado statutes and we had the passion. Conservation Tax Credit Transfer, LLC was born.

CTCT'S business philosophy

We believe it is extremely important to protect Colorado's special places. As a team we bring our professional knowledge and our enthusiasm for land conservation to every Credit transaction.

Our team has become very involved in both state and national conservation efforts. We are members of the Colorado Coalition of Land Trusts, our state organization, and the Land Trust Alliance, our national organization. We stay current on state and federal legislative processes. We maintain an ongoing relationship with officials at the Colorado Department of Revenue and the Internal Revenue Service with regard to conservation issues.

Supporting land conservation

Individuals from our team have served as board members of a local land trust, a conservation district and our state organization, the Colorado Coalition of Land Trusts.

We make charitable contributions to many of Colorado's land trusts and to our state and national conservation organizations in addition to giving our time and energy to land trusts and other conservation professionals. We attend conservation conferences and we offer our Credit transfer experience in an effort to help strengthen Colorado's conservation statutes and land conservation programs.
