TAX CREDIT TRANSFER, LLC
Conservation Tax
Credit Transfer, LLC (CTCT) was founded in 2000
after Carl and Karen Spina placed a conservation
easement on their ranch and qualified for a
conservation easement tax credit that year.
They became very familiar with the conservation
easement donation process and the credit transfer
process through their donation and subsequent
sale of their tax credit. They sold most of
their credit in 2001 and realized that many
other landowners could benefit from selling
their credits as well.
CTCT
facilitated the transfer and sale of the
first two conservation tax credits in
Colorado in 2001. Since then CTCT has
transferred more than $110,000,000 of
tax credits. All of the credits that have
been accepted for transfer have been sold
each year. Our portfolio of credits includes
statewide conservation easement donations
from Colorado Coalition of Land Trusts
member land trusts and open space programs.
As a team, we bring
our professional knowledge and our enthusiasm
for land conservation to every credit
transaction. We attend and present at
conservation conferences and workshops.
We offer our credit transfer experience
in an effort to help strengthen Colorado's
conservation statutes and land conservation
programs.
We are very involved
in state and national conservation efforts.
We are members of the Colorado Coalition
of Land Trusts and the Land Trust Alliance,
our national conservation organization.
We maintain ongoing relationships with
officials at the Colorado Department of
Revenue, the Colorado Department of Real
Estate the Internal Revenue Service with
regard to conservation issues. We keep
current on state and federal legislative
processes.

CTCT makes annual financial
and in kind contributions to the Colorado Coalition
of Land Trusts, land trusts and to landowners
in the form of grants to help with the costs
associated with making a donation.
